What happens if a fire breaks out in the garage?
If there is a fire in the garage, the alarm goes off and a report is sent immediately and automatically to the fire brigade’s regional control room.
Unless the Allround Parking Services control room reports otherwise (for example in the case of a false alarm), the fire brigade will turn out straight away after 3 minutes.
The evacuation system is activated immediately: the LED displays positioned around the garage ask everyone to leave the garage as quickly as possible via the indicated emergency exits.
The acoustic alarm sounds and the fire screens come down. The speed gate and barrier at the exits open automatically. For safety reasons, however, the speed gate and barrier at the entrance remain closed, to prevent people from driving into the fire.
In addition, the ventilation system is switched off automatically to avoid fanning the flames.
Once the fire brigade is on site, its (deputy) officers will assess the risks.
If necessary, they will draw up a plan, in consultation with the police, to evacuate the homes above the garage.

1. IF YOU DISCOVER A FIRE -> Raise the alarm: Shout “FIRE” loudly and warn bystanders and other visitors to the garage.
Extinguish (if possible): Only try to put out a fire that has just started if you can do so safely, using the fire extinguishers by the charging points or in the storage corridors.
Smoke? Whatever you do, don’t breathe it in.
2. IF THE ALARM (SIREN) SOUNDS AND THE LED MESSAGE LIGHTS UP
Immediately stop parking or loading and unloading.
Leave your vehicle immediately, together with your passengers.
Leave your car behind: Do not lock the car; leave the car key in the ignition (or somewhere central in the car) if you are being evacuated by the fire brigade.
3. EVACUATION
Take the shortest route to one of the indicated emergency exits.
Use the stairs, never the lift!
Keep low if there is smoke (smoke rises; clearer air stays near the floor).
Stay away from the fire and any smoke
4. AFTER LEAVING THE GARAGE
Go to the assembly point (in front of the garage entrance).
Wait for the emergency services and follow their instructions.
Do not go back into the garage until the fire brigade says it is safe
